Reasonix session sync — continue on any device

Reasonix has the plainest storage of any agent here: one directory, a set of *.jsonl session files, and the file stem as the session id.

Where Reasonix keeps its sessions

Item Value
Directory %APPDATA%\reasonix\sessions\ (Windows)
Files one *.jsonl per session; the file name (without extension) is the session id

Connecting it

  1. Open the setup help page, pick Reasonix, and download the client package (server address pre-filled).
  2. On first run, execute install-deps.bat (Windows) or ./install-deps.sh (macOS / Linux).
  3. Register with the generated command — your workspace API key is already filled in. The client starts as HERMES_SYNC_AGENT=reasonix.
  4. Restart Reasonix.

First start pulls incrementally; an empty server gets a full push to complete the pairing; then it syncs every 5 minutes.

Behaviour worth knowing

  • Append-only — sessions are appended to as JSONL; your existing history is never rewritten.
  • Running sessions are skipped — a session Reasonix currently holds (there is a lock file) is left untouched for that round and synced once it is free. That is deliberate conflict avoidance, not a missed sync.
  • The file name is the identity — renaming or moving a file makes it a different session, so let Reasonix manage that directory rather than tidying it by hand.

Across devices, across agents

Every machine pointed at the same workspace sees the same session list. The first thing you notice after installing the client is that a second machine simply already has the sessions — no export, no import. You can also continue them in another agent (Hermes for long-form writing, OpenCode for code) without losing context.
